Environmentally harmful mercury fillings should not be washed away into our water system when removed from a tooth. Amalgam Separators are devices designed to capture amalgam particles from dental office waste water through sedimentation, filtration, centrifugation, or a combination of these mechanisms. In our office the metal removed by the amalgam separator is sent to a recycling facility and the separator helps prevent harm to our community’s waste water system.

And speaking of recycling, we do our part to recycle as many waste materials as possible when we produce them. But by not creating waste to begin with we can have the greatest impact on our environment. By utilizing digital technology as much as possible we significantly reduce the need for most paper as well as eliminate entirely the need for the harmful chemicals used in old fashioned film x-rays.
