At David W. Piper, DMD Family Dentistry, we are more than just a dental practice; we are a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional dental care in a nurturing and responsible manner. Here are five core commitments that set us apart and demonstrate the dedication of our Largo, FL, dentist and staff to comprehensive care for all our patients.

Commitment to Health

Dr. Piper and his team of experts are focused on helping patients achieve and maintain optimum dental health but also understand that our overall health is critical to living the best lives we can. We treat the individual person, not just the mouth. We listen closely to each person’s needs, wants, and desires and then provide a specific, tailor-made treatment plan to help accomplish those goals.

Education is critical for the success of that plan which is why we take time to talk with you one-on-one. We help you pick a path towards health and well-being.

Commitment to Safety

Keeping you safe is our number one priority and paramount in everything we do. Our dental team strictly follows all of the recommendations set by the American Dental Association (ADA), U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines to ensure that our clinic remains a safe and sterile environment for everyone.

Commitment to Quality

Quality treatment requires quality people, materials, and equipment. Our team uses the latest technology to help make accurate diagnoses and precisely plan treatment. We also use the best dental materials available to provide our patients with top-notch, healthy, and cosmetic treatment results.

Our practice uses digital X-rays, imaging, and photography to aid in your care. Digital images give us a detailed look at your teeth, gums, and other structures that are many times safer than traditional film imaging systems of the past. Digital dental scanning allows us to quickly capture a 3D image of your mouth, both painlessly and precisely, with unprecedented image quality and accuracy. We use the industry leading scanner Primescan by Dentsply Sirona, similar to a very small video camera, to avoid the goopy impression molds of years past.

Commitment to Environment

We make every effort to protect the environment we all live, work, and play in. Systems are in place to keep our commitment to the environment a priority.

Environmentally harmful mercury fillings should not be washed away into our water system when removed from a tooth. Amalgam separators are devices designed to capture amalgam particles from dental office waste water through sedimentation, filtration, centrifugation, or a combination of these mechanisms. In our office, the metal removed by the amalgam separator is sent to a recycling facility and the separator helps prevent harm to our community’s waste water system.

And speaking of recycling, we do our part to recycle as many waste materials as possible when we produce them. But by not creating waste to begin with we can have the greatest impact on our environment. By utilizing digital technology as much as possible, we significantly reduce the need for most paper as well as entirely eliminate the need for the harmful chemicals used in old fashioned film X-rays.

Commitment to Community

humanitarian dr. piper Dental Life Network

Dr. Piper has always felt that being a great leader involves more than great clinical and technical skill. Giving back to the community is a very important part of who he is as a person and a big part of his effort to help those who may need a helping hand.

By volunteering services and materials through programs such as Donated Dental Services via the Dental Lifeline Network, Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, and Gulf Coast Dental Outreach, Dr. Piper and his team help individuals who are less fortunate to receive the dental care they need at either little or no cost.

Dr. Piper has been a proud supporter of the Donated Dental Services program with the Dental Lifeline Network since 2002. He was recently presented with this plaque to display his humanitarian contributions to show his commitment to provide his professional services to people with disabilities or who are elderly.

Our team also continues to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes in Pinellas County and Dr. Piper is a member of Flying Doctors of America, a team of healthcare providers who volunteer their time, money, and skill to communities in third world nations. Flying Doctors of America has helped over 300,000 men, women and children from all over the world since 1990.
