Sterilization is an important part of maintaining health and safety in any healthcare environment. At the office of David W. Heat-Sterilization
Sterilizing the various instruments used during treatment is a top priority. That’s why we use heat and pressure sterilization to prevent bacterial cross-contamination between patients or the transfer of other pathogens. This thorough method brings instruments to high temperatures between uses, killing all microorganisms. If the instrument is not able to be heat sterilized (plastic melts) then a one- time- use,disposable item is used instead.
Protective Barriers
Heat sterilization is effective for the hand instruments used in treatment, but isn’t viable for every surface in patient treatment areas. We use disposable covers for seats and other surfaces to prevent germs from being transferred to or from patients.
Air Filtration
The air we breathe is also a vector for pathogens. Our office has high-quality air purification system that filters out germs and viruses, including individual units for each treatment room.
Surface Disinfection
Our office stays up-to-date on all surface disinfection protocols. We use industry-standard medical disinfectants and cleaning solutions between each patient visit to ensure that everyone enjoys a clean treatment environment.
Disposable PPE Protocols
Masks and gloves help prevent the spread of many pathogens, but only when used correctly. All of our staff are carefully trained in the appropriate protocols to use gloves and masks effectively, disposing of them and applying new ones between each patient.
