Painless Oral Health Issues That Can Be Problematic

Tooth pain is not easily ignored. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because it means you’re much more likely to get the help you need when you’re experiencing oral health issues. However, some oral health issues are totally painless, which means they can go far too long without being treated.

To help you get a better idea of what those issues may be, we’ve created this handy list. Keep an eye out for any of these issues with your oral health, and reach out to a dentist if you do experience any of them.

Gum Disease

While some of the symptoms of gum disease may eventually become painful, there are a number of them that don’t necessarily hurt. These include swelling and discoloration of the gums, gums that bleed easily, bad breath, receded gums, and loose or shifting teeth.

Gum disease can cause a number of issues with your oral health and has even been connected to serious overall health issues

Halitosis

Halitosis is a fancy way of saying bad breath, which is obviously an unpleasant condition on its own, but it can indicate something more serious than an inability to maintain good oral hygiene. Chronic halitosis can signal a few different conditions involving the nose, throat, or mouth, digestive issues, and even oral cancer.

Oral Cancer

Oftentimes symptoms of oral cancer do not become noticeable to the patient until the disease has had considerable time to develop. At that point, the situation may be a lot more dire than if it had been caught early on. Fortunately, your dentist can screen for oral cancer whenever you visit them for a routine checkup.

I've been a patient of Dr. Piper's for the last 19 years so it's very obvious that I've been a very very satisfied patient. I had an excellent full check-up today with x-rays and everything was perfect. Perfect because I've been going consistently and following their experts on dental care, cleaning and good health! Bravo 👏 👏 👏
